We uphold that salvation is by grace (chesed, חֶסֶד, unmerited favor) through faith, and not based upon any works (Mark 16:16, Luke 7:50, John 10:9, Eph 2:9, 2 Tim 1:9, Titus 2:11, 3:5). We also uphold the lasting importance of the Torah (God’s Law) for today, for both Jewish and non-Jewish believers in Yeshua (Deut 5:29, Psalm 119, Matt 5:17-19, Rom 3:31, 1 John 5:3, etc.), as well as the covenantal inclusion of all believers within the commonwealth of Israel (Deut 32, Rom. 11:13-27, Eph 2:12).
Truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a yud, not a stroke will pass from the Law [Torah] until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
– Matthew 5:17-19
Then Yeshua came to [his disciples] and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples [students] of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
– Matthew 28:18-20a
Do we, then, nullify the Law [Torah] by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the Torah.
– Romans 3:31
