In 2005, Jason Salas gave up drawing. He simply could not see why the Father would give him a talent to draw silly pictures with word balloons in order to make people laugh. After a series of non-creative jobs, Jason picked up the pencil and started the comic “Perk at Work,” a project he had been working on for years. Not knowing where the urge to return to cartooning came from, he decided to just stick with it. It was at that time that he had been drawn to the Messianic movement. As Jason refined his skills in cartooning, a new flame sparked up within. What about a Messianic comic to communicate with laughter? Immediately the comics sprung fourth. Since then it has been non-stop. Recently, Jason has placed Perk at Work on hiatus, focusing his efforts on “In The Way.” There was a bit of “wilderness” that had to be traversed in order to get there but, as we all know, the Lord will deliver each of us. Jason resides in Las Cruces, NM where his "tent making" job is property management. (Perhaps it's more like a tent managing job.) Either way, it pays the bills so that comics can be made and people can have a laugh.
